Jason Donovan returns to the UK in early 2016 with a new 20-venue touring show, celebrating his Greatest Hits and "Ten Good Reasons" albums. Performing his début album in its entirety for the first time, alongside some of his most popular hits, Jason starts in Watford on the 26th of February and closes in Aberdeen on the 19th of May. Tickets for the show are available now, including a VIP option with a meet and greet, and access to the sound check.
The tour is Jason's first in six years, and is the first time that some of the material from his début album will be performed live.
It was five years ago, give or take, when a few of us decided to relive our youth with a Jason Donovan concert. No irony, just pure 80s joy. You know the kind of night: cheesy pop, faded denim, and a crowd who definitely remembered Neighbours first time round.
We had it all planned, tickets booked, outfits questionable, carpool sorted. Then, hours before we were meant to leave, our driver bailed. Family emergency. Fair enough, but we were stuck.
A mate offered his car, casually, “Just take mine if you want.” Lovely gesture. Only problem? No insurance. And borrowing a car without cover, especially for a two-hour motorway run? Not a great idea.
After a brief, slightly frantic scroll through options, I ended up getting temporary car insurance cover, just for the evening. No long forms, no hassle, just enough to get there and back without worrying about breaking the law or risking someone else's no-claims.
Honestly, it felt like a tiny thing at the time. But being able to jump in that car, turn up the radio, and belt out *Too Many Broken Hearts* with no legal grey area hanging over the night? Worth every penny.
It could’ve been a ruined evening. Instead, it became one of those random stories you bring up years later, the night Jason still had it, the crowd knew every word, and a bit of quick thinking kept the whole thing alive.
So if you’re ever caught out, needing to drive but lacking cover, even just for a few hours, it’s good to know there’s a way through. It definitely saved our night.
